I’m always surprised at how effective the simple act of breathing can have when there are feelings of anxiety – breathing can have a significant impact on those feelings of anxiety.
There’s only one slight modification to how you would breath, rather than short breaths you take long deep breaths. Try this, get yourself comfortable, breath in over a count of 4 and breath out over a count of 4. That’s it! Add a bit of mindfulness in there thinking of nothing else but each breath and you should start to feel calmer.
